Common questions

I lost my streak. Can I get it back?

If iCloud was on and you had logged a brashen that day on another device, reopening the app on your main device should pull it back in. If the day has genuinely passed with no completion logged, the streak has reset — and honestly, that’s part of the game. The streak is supposed to mean something.

I paid for a pack. It didn’t unlock.

Go to Settings → Restore Purchases inside the app. StoreKit will re-check your Apple ID and re-apply every entitlement you’ve ever bought. If that still doesn’t fix it, email us the receipt from Apple and we’ll sort it out.

How do I cancel Brashen Pro?

iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Brashen → Cancel. Or from inside the app, Settings → Manage Subscription, which opens the same native sheet. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; your Pro entitlements stay active until then.

My Apple Watch logged a brashen but my phone didn’t update.

Open the phone app. On launch, Brashen drains any pending watch completions, runs achievement evaluation, and refreshes the widget. If the phone has been closed for a while, give it a few seconds after launch. If it still doesn’t appear, check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple ID and iCloud Drive is enabled.

Siri doesn’t recognize “What’s my brashen today?”

Open Shortcuts → App Shortcuts and make sure Brashen’s shortcuts are visible there. Sometimes it takes a few minutes after install for Siri to index them. You can also add the shortcut manually from inside the Shortcuts app.

The widget isn’t updating.

Widgets refresh at midnight and whenever you complete a quest. If it looks stale, open the app once — that republishes the widget snapshot immediately. You can also long-press the widget to remove and re-add it, which forces a clean reload.

Can I export my data?

Not today. Everything lives in SwiftData on your device, and if iCloud is enabled it’s also in your private iCloud database. Export is on our list — tell us what format you’d want it in.

I have a quest idea.

Send it. Seriously. The best quests in the app came from people who know exactly what they’ve been avoiding. Email hello@brashen.com with “Quest idea” in the subject line.

I found a bug.

We fix what we can reproduce. Every reply comes from the person who wrote the code.

Something weird happened after I updated.

SwiftData migrations are scaffolded but conservative. If the app appears to lose data after an update, do not delete and reinstall — that will also wipe the iCloud-synced copy if you’re the only device. Email us first and we’ll walk through recovery.

Feature requests

We ship in the direction of what people actually use. If you want Brashen to do something it doesn’t, tell us — especially if you can describe a real moment when you would have used the feature. Concrete beats abstract every time.

Press & partnerships

For press, interviews, or therapeutic-use partnerships, email hello@brashen.com with “Press” in the subject.

One more thing

If Brashen has helped you do something you’ve been avoiding — something real, something you’d tell a friend about — we’d love to hear it. Those stories are why we build this. hello@brashen.com.
